Submission rules

Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.

Abstract Submission/ Edit deadline: 30 june 2021

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website 

ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED BY EMAIL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Limitations:
    • The same person may submit up to 2 abstracts regardless of presenting author.
    • If two presentations are accepted for a presenting author, at least one will be a poster.
    • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
    • Presenting authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by the 30th June 2021 will be scheduled for presentation and included for publication.
    • Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official congress publications.
    • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
    • All accepted abstracts will be published in the yearly abstract/proceedings e-publication.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English or Spanish speaker, by a university specific publications office (or another similar facility) or by a copy editor, prior to submission.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Abstract submitters must disclose any conflict of interests in the submission form.
  • References, figures and tables are not required in the abstract.
  • Oral and OWSM presentations for the scientific programme must be submitted as recordings in advance and last a maximum of 10-12 mn. for oral presentations and 8 mn. for OWSM sessions. Instructions I for preparation of presentations and to record and submit your recording will be sent after your abstract is accepted.
  • All abstracts submitted must comply with the “Guidelines for Ethical Treatment of Animals in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare Research” prepared by the ISAE Ethics Committee (https://www.applied-ethology.org/res/EthicalGuidelinesISAErevised2017%20for%20council%20meeting.pdf).
  • All oral and OWSM presentations will be published freely, 2 months after the conference onwards, on the YouTube channel One Welfare https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLncmmzeSwdZLRO0ZI9z_tQ under the category of creative commons. If the author does not want his presentation to be published, he must expressly indicate this when submitting his presentation in the submission form.

- OWSM sessions - during the OWSM sessions there will be a public vote for the best presentation, taking into account both content and entertainment factor. There will be two runner up prizes of 250 USD and the most awesome one will get an award of 1000 USD.
